DESCRIPTION: EPW - Aldred & Son, Yarmouth, keyless free-sprung lever with winding indicator and reverse fusee, 52mm, very heavy 18K gold OF original case bearing London hallmarks for 1891, "P W" in oval cameo for casemaker Phillip Woodman & Sons, gold cuvette, cream colored enamel DS dial, SW-pin-set, fully capped lever escapement, free-sprung balance with diamond endstone, gilt mvt, s#5777. Gross weight of assembled watch 91.2 dwt (141.9 g).
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, good winding indicator function, fine-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, main plate with ultra-fine scratch striations from past wiping, some micro-fine scratches; dial appears to have once had a signature crossing its mid-point both left and right of center that has since been cleanly removed with only the faintest illegible hints remained evident and its prior existence is revealed mainly by different appearance of reflected light in area of signature removal, dial otherwise virtually flawless with only some small bits of perimeter scuff under the bezel; nearly mint hands; case shows little wear, small nick to bezel adjacent crystal; tight bow, crown shows hardly any wear; glass crystal with small internal edge chip at lower-left.
